[শম্বুক বধের আসল কারণ] শম্বুক-বধ হল একটি সাধারণ ঘটনা যা রামায়ণ এবং হিন্দুধর্ম সম্পর্কে সবচেয়ে বড় বিভ্রান্তি তৈরি করার জন্য পেঁচানো হয়েছে। অনেকে মানসিক জিমন্যাস্টিক করেন কিন্তু ব্যাখ্যা খুঁজে পান না। যাইহোক, নিষ্ঠার সাথে, ঠিক ভাবে পড়লে আমরা রামায়ণেই ব্যাখ্যা খুঁজে পাই। এই ঘটনার দিকে নজর দেওয়া যাক। ভগবান রাম শম্বুককে কেন হত্যা করেছিলেন? শম্বুক কি বললেন? এই হত্যাকাণ্ড কি জায়েজ ছিল? তার দ্বারা ঠিক কোন কথাগুলো বলা হয়েছিল?   আসুন সংক্ষিপ্তভাবে সেই ঘটনাটি আগে দেখি:- একজন ব্রাহ্মণ তার মৃত সন্তানকে কোলে নিয়ে রামের প্রাসাদের ফটকে এসে কাঁদতে কাঁদতে বার বার চিৎকার করে উঠলেন। তার ছেলেটি তখনও কৈশোরে পৌঁছায়নি তার আগেই তার মৃত্যু ঘটেছে। তিনি বললেন রামের রাজত্বে মানুষের অকালমৃত্যুর মতো ভয়ঙ্কর ঘটনা আমি আগে কখনও দেখিনি বা শুনিনি। রাম নিশ্চয়ই গুরুতর দোষ করেছেন তাই তাঁর রাজ্যে শিশুর অকালমৃত্যু ঘটেছে। হে মহারাজ, মৃত্যুর কবলে পড়া আমার সন্তানের জীবন ফিরিয়ে দাও! নয়তো আমার স্ত্রীর সাথে আমি তোমার দরজায় আমাদের জীবন ত্যাগ করব। একজন পাপাচারী রাজার অধার্মিক শাসনে মানুষ ধ্বংস হয়ে যায...
